The petals and sepals are the same length giving the bloom an unusual six pointed star shape. The pink color is clear. The bloom shape mimics a hexagram. Named by delightful ladies from South Carolina. Fertile both ways. BC 20.      DF 50

SEV, M ,6 1/2", 36", Reblooms. UFO cascade. Fiery rose red with faint red eye zone and yellow green throat. A very showy garden addition with the color of NATHAN SOMMERS on a taller scape and mega blooming habit! Apaches were known for their brilliant night signal fires. Four way branching. Budcount 40! Not a spider. 3.8:1 ratio.

SEV, M, 30", 5". UFO crispate. Black Red self , GT, this low growing narrow form is a garden stopper.  The petals and sepals twist and crispate.  From Neds small spider breeding program. Petal length/petal width ratio is 3.80:1. Four way branching. Nocturnal. Fast increaser. Very fertile. BC 23.

(RELENTLESS INTERLOPER x RED RAMPAGE) EV 30” Midseason    6.5”, Reblooms. Large flower - cool Red with happy ruffles, thin white edge and a bright green “notched” throat displayed well on a Tall well branched scape that allows the blooms to open completely,  BC 30. Sepal tips and edge curl back. A darker red band is barely visible. Does benefit from afternoon shade. No other red is more impressive in the morning. Slightly creped surface. Fertile! CDI has two larger sibs coming in ’06! RED RAMPAGE has increased flower size in reds!

DOR/SEV, M, 41", 6". Polytepals 80%. Dark red Purple with yellow green throat and darker purple band. sepals crispate. Blooms often five on five. The bloom color is clear, tall, very fertile and a great parent. Parentage is from Lambert cultivars. BC 16. Fertile. Narrow.

(PRUDHOE x ODDS AND ENDS) Mary Baker in Nebraska “I have grown COOL MORNING MIST since its introduction without mulch or winter protection in my zone 5a garden. It grows like a weed here and never fails to produce many beautiful, consistently perfect well-spaced blooms on nicely branched scapes. CMM is a very easy pod parent. I used it a lot this past summer as well as the summer before, and look forward to seeing its kids. CMM never fails to take my breath away and it will always have a special, prominent place in my garden.”

The wide but long petals curl back sometimes pinch and sepals are extended and twist! BC 16. Fertile.

SEV, 28”, Early, 6.5”.  Large, round, ENE, with Pink petals and a ruffled crazy cranberry edge! The pink narrow sepals have just a touch of color on there edge.  Yellow throat and a green heart.  Smooth surface texture. Important for bringing size to the ENE program.  4 way branching. 22 BC.  Fertile.

 

*CRAZY LARRY (D. Hansen, Fall 2005)           C 50

(MOON OVER MONTEREY X UK) SEV, 24”, Early, Recurrent, 5.5”. Flat triangular form with overlapping petals, pointy sepals and large ruffles in the throat.  Sculpted!!  This tasty orange sherbet  flower with a ruffled yellow edge and green heart was a favorite in the garden of Larry Gooden from St. Louis, MO. 4 way branching. 20 BC. Fertile.  Unique color! Great border plant

SEV,ML,9",40",Recurrent.UFO crispate. Light purple with yellow green throat. Faint purple eye. The throat is veined and explodes into the petals. The bloom reminds one of the explosions in the universe as the planets were formed. Fertile both ways. Four way branching. BC 18.

EV, 24”, Early Midseason, Recurrent, 5.5”.  UFO sepals quill. Depending on the angle of view, the form of this Pink, Plum-eyed flower can look "normal” or like an "iris”.  The petals form a crest and rise away from the flat sepals B falls. Form is consistent. GT. Yellow mid rib extends half way onto the petals. BC 20. ((HAJA BABA X UNTAMED GLORY) X FORTUNES DEAREST)

SEV,M,7",33",Recurrent.UFO Crispate. Wine purple with yellow green throat accented by faint petal midrib. Although the flower is 7", it is in fact a small form, perky crispate. It reminds one of a cricket. Fertile both ways. Three way branching. BC 14.

DOR, L to VL, 8", 47", Reblooms. UFO crispate/spatulate. A large, luminescent gold with extended white midribs and slight white edging. Sepals and petals curl up and under. Color dominates the garden. Four way branching, 26 Budcount! Bud builder. Named for Cripple Creek, CO., one of the richest gold mining areas in the United States.

Violet veined mid rib; program I explored for several years! Small ruffles, Gaposis-petals do not overlap showing the pattern on the eye of sepals! The longest blooming DL in the garden, April through October! Fertile! The most heavy used parent for patterns in my program!

++DELIGHTFUL DAVID (Ra Hansen ‘03)   EV, 26”, EM Re 5.5”  Rose with darker band and yellow to green throat. A consistent DOUBLE (I have never seen a single bloom). It has all the Ra Hansen traits, great plant habit (great foliage year round), 4 way branching with BC 24, sunfast, NOC, clear color and fertility. Ra selected the name to honor her friend and  the best double hybridizer, David Kirchhoff!!! (UK) DF 20

Pink Lilac petal, Ivory Bone sepal, accented with a large Grape Blue eye, surrounded by a 1/16” inch Plum band, and a Lime Green throat. Having five distinct colors in a daylily is unique, but it is the amount of blue in the eye takes this flower way beyond any other. Good substance.  Fragrant. (Probably not fertile). 22BC.  DF 15

The bloom color is reminiscent of the blending of colors one sees at the Echo Canyon Amphitheater near Ghost Ranch, New Mexico. The flower segments twist and turn gracefully. Fertile both ways.
